South Pacific Musical Starring Christina Carrera Comes to Atlanta

March 19, 2010

PRESS RELEASE
Arts, Entertainment , Lifestyle Editors

BROADWAY LENDS ATLANTA FOX
7 TIME TONY AWARD WINNING MUSICAL SOUTH PACIFIC
STARRING CHRISTINA CARRERA

Shakespearean performances of children in the nineteenth century paved the way for today's child actors. Historically, there have been many horror stories of overscheduled and overworked child actors in Holly "Weird" who [through no fault of their own] have had many societal and emotional challenges once their careers have ended, oftentimes due to poor planning.

Fortunately, this is not the case with bubbly child actress and entrepreneur, Christina Nicole Carrera who has a starring role in the critically acclaimed Rogers andHammerstein's musical, South Pacific, and is seen on Nickelodeon commercials and in numerous print ads. See first hand how the pint-sized actress, entrepreneur, and green junkie juggles a 7 Time Tony Award Winning Broadway Musical, school on the go, volunteer work and being green across the United States promoting her “It’s not Easy Being GREEN” promotional campaign. She is planning for a bright future through her green initiatives and self-designed eco-friendly tee shirts and seed packets for children’s organizations and green friendly initiatives.

Clear up the controversy about child actors and get an opportunity to see firsthand how this new age child actor is playing out [no pun intended] on Broadway. The talented 10 year old prodigy Christina sings in French and delivers a stellar performance as Ngana. Audiences can get an idea of what it takes to get to Broadway and how to stay once you’ve gotten there, how to become an entrepreneur at an early age, and how to use your talent to help others.

WHO’S SAYING WHAT
According to the Veteran theatre and Television Director and Television Producer Debbie Allen (Fame, A Different World And So You Think You Can Dance) "This child is a SUPERSTAR!"

"Christina Carrera was delightful as de Becque's child, Ngana and the rest of the cast doesn't contain a single weak link." - Mark Rudio, San Francisco examiner.

Christina Carrera is "...Precociously attuned to the show's meaning." -Nancy Churnin, Dallas Morning News.

About South Pacific
Winner of 7 Tony Awards. South Pacific tour visits 21 cities throughout the US and Canada. Although well known for its extraordinary score -- the songs include Some Enchanted Evening, Younger Than Springtime, Bali Ha'i, There Is Nothin' Like A Dame, and A Wonderful Guy -- South Pacific is also a deeply felt drama. Its portrayal of Americans stationed in an alien culture in wartime is as relevant today as when it first thrilled audiences in 1949. Now in its first Broadway revival, South Pacific won seven 2008 Tony Awards and has been playing to sold-out houses since the first preview in March 2008. South Pacific is directed by Tony winner Bartlett Sher.

If you would like to interview Christina Carrera or have her be involved in your GREEN community activities. She is enthusiastic and would love the opportunity to meet you. South Pacific will be at the FOX THEATRE April 6-April, 11, 2010. A number of media credentials will be given to those media interested in writing a review of Christina’s performance.
