EARTH DAY!

EARTH DAY IS APRIL 22, 2009

HOW DOES EARTH DAY AFFECT ME ,YOU ASK?

As an environmentally considerate agency, we appreciate Mother Nature. Below are several educational elements regarding Earth Day, Global Warming and good old nature.

GREEN GENERATION CAMPAIGN
Earth Day Network will commemorate the 40th Earth Day with a large-scale event on the National Mall in Washington, DC. On April 19th, like in years past, hundreds of thousands of people will come to the heart of the nation's capital to witness the official launch of the Green Generation and show their support for responsible, brave environmental policy that helps us face the challenges ahead. Earth Day will bring together families, adults of all ages, civic leaders, entertainers and other community members to celebrate Earth Day and share a common commitment to make greener life choices and stem the tide of climate change. During the weekend of April 17-19, Earth Day Network and our partners at Green Apple Festival will coordinate volunteer actions with tens of thousands of participants in Washington, DC, New York, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin and Atlanta. Thank you concerts for our volunteers will take place the evening of April 19.
If your organization or company wants to be present at Earth Day on the Mall 2009 and support the Green Generation, please contact Raquel Garcia, garcia@earthday.net, for exhibiting opportunities. (Source:

POLAR BEARS ON ICE... IS NOT A MUSICAL

According to the The report from the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change the Polar ice caps are melting at an alarming rate. The habitat where Polar Bears live Polar Bears on Iceand thrive are disappearing and the result is death and possibly extinction. If Global Warming continues at this rate, not only will Polar Bears disappear, but also most of the wildlife indigenous to this habitat. How does this affect you? This image is the tragedy of what Global Warming is doing on a monumental scale.  To read the entire article on what impact Global Warming has on you , your community or future generations, click here to Read More

COULD YOU SURVIVE AS A FISH?

  1. Take advantage of the nice weather. Drive less frequently and walk instead of driving.
  2. Recycle. Recycle. Recycle. Plastics, Newspaper, etc can be recycled easily. Many apartment complexes and communities encourage you to recycle. They and provide bins and removal services. If you are not in such a community, start your own recycling program.
  3. Conserve energy in whenever possible. Turn off electrical devices when not in use, take shorter showers and use low voltage light bulbs.

Probably not, however if Global Warming continues, we may not have many options. You can help impede the effects of Global Warming by doing some of the following:

WHITE HOUSE EASTER EGG ROLL 2009

The holiday tradition has a long history dating back to 1878 when President Rutherford B. Hayes officially opened the White House grounds to local children for egg rolling on Easter Monday. Successive Presidents have continued the tradition of inviting children to the White House Lawn for egg rolling and other activities and entertainment.

This year’s White House Easter Egg Roll theme, ‘Let’s go play’, encourages America’s youth to lead healthy and active lives. The White House will open the South Lawn to children age ten and under, along with their families, to enjoy sports, cooking classes, live musical performances, storytelling and the traditional Easter egg roll.
